PRIVACY POLICY FOR STELLAR PATROL

Last updated: 29 August 2026

This privacy policy governs your use of the mobile game Stellar Patrol ("the Application"), created by GBeeGames. The Application is a single-player space game with two optional online features: a world leaderboard and cloud backup of your saved game.

This policy describes exactly what leaves your device, when it leaves, and who receives it.

In short:

  • There is no account and no sign-up. You are identified on the leaderboard only by a nickname you choose. The Application never asks for your real name, email address, age, phone number or payment details.
  • It does not use location services.
  • It contains no analytics SDK.
  • If you leave the Nickname/Callsign and Leaderboard Code fields in Settings blank, the Application never contacts our servers at all.
  • Advertising is served by Google AdMob and is governed by Google's own privacy policy. You can remove ads permanently with an in-app purchase.

What information does the Application obtain and how is it used?

Information you choose to provide

The Application has no registration and no login. There are exactly two pieces of information you can give us, both typed into the Settings screen and both optional:

  • Nickname/Callsign — a handle you invent for yourself, shown publicly on the leaderboard next to your score. It is limited to letters, numbers, spaces and hyphens. We never ask for your real name and nothing checks what you type, so it is your real name only if you decide to make it one. Whatever you enter is visible to other players, so please do not use your real name unless you are content for it to be public.
  • Leaderboard Code — a short code you choose, which reserves your Nickname/Callsign so that another player cannot post scores under it, and which identifies your save-game backup. It is not an account password. It is not tied to an email address, it cannot be recovered or reset by us, and it protects nothing except your leaderboard entry and your backup file. Please do not reuse a password you use anywhere else.

If both fields are left blank, the Application makes no leaderboard or backup requests whatsoever.

Game progress sent with your leaderboard entry

When you open the Rankings screen, the Application submits your current standing to the leaderboard. That submission contains your Nickname/Callsign, your Leaderboard Code, your country code, and the following gameplay statistics:

  • prestige, credits and crystals;
  • sectors liberated, jumpgates unlocked, planets defeated, and enemy, friendly and pirate bases destroyed;
  • enemies killed, capital ships and cargo ships destroyed, bosses killed, and mines destroyed;
  • shots fired, shots hit, shots missed, missiles fired, missiles hit and countermeasures used;
  • deaths and collisions;
  • missions completed and failed, calls for help, and awards given;
  • asteroids mined, trades made, treaties negotiated, enemies made and items found;
  • the number of times you have played;
  • your best clear time for each sector, which is used to build the Speedrun Best Times board.

This information is used to build and display the public leaderboards and to calculate your rank. Your Nickname/Callsign and these statistics are visible to other players. Your Leaderboard Code is not displayed to anyone.

Country

The Application reads the two-letter country code from your device's own language and region setting and sends it with your leaderboard entry, so that you can be placed on your country's board. This is a device setting, not a location measurement — see the section on location below.

Save-game backup — only when you ask for it

The Settings screen offers BACKUP, RESTORE and DELETE BACKUP. Nothing is uploaded unless you tap one of these buttons.

  • BACKUP uploads a copy of your saved game — your settings, ships, missions and upgrades — to stellarpatrol.app, stored under your Nickname/Callsign and Leaderboard Code.
  • RESTORE downloads that copy back onto your device, so you can carry your progress to a new phone.
  • DELETE BACKUP removes the stored copy from our server.

The backup contains game progress only. It does not contain anything else from your device.

Information collected automatically by the Application

The Application itself contains no analytics or telemetry SDK and does not profile how you play. Like any web server, our server records ordinary access logs for the requests described above — the requesting IP address, the time, and the request itself — which are used to keep the service running and to detect abuse of the leaderboard.

Advertising

Free versions of the Application display ads supplied by Google AdMob. According to Google's published disclosure, the Google Mobile Ads SDK collects a device advertising identifier, advertising and ad-interaction data, product-interaction data, and crash and performance data. That information is collected by Google, not by us, and is governed by Google's Privacy Policy.

Where the law requires consent — in the EEA and the UK — the Application shows Google's consent form the first time it runs, and your choice is passed to the ad SDK. On iOS 14.5 and later, the Application also shows Apple's App Tracking Transparency prompt. If you decline that prompt, or decline consent, ads continue but are non-personalized.

You can remove advertising from the Application entirely by buying the ad-free upgrade.

Purchases

In-app purchases are processed by the Apple App Store or by Google Play. Payment is handled entirely by Apple or Google, and the Application never receives your card number, billing address, or any other payment detail. The Application records on your device which packs you have bought, so that it can restore them. Your crystal and credit totals form part of the leaderboard score described above.

What the Application does not collect

For the avoidance of doubt, the Application does not ask for, receive or transmit:

  • your real name (we ask only for a nickname), email address, date of birth or age;
  • a telephone number;
  • your contacts, calendar, photos, camera, microphone, or media library;
  • your location from location services (see below);
  • payment card or bank details;
  • health, financial or biometric information.

On iOS, the Application declares that it does not use any of these capabilities, and it never requests permission for them.

Does the Application collect precise real time location information of the device?

No. The Application does not use location services and never requests location permission. The only geographic information involved is the two-letter country code taken from your device's region setting, as described above, which identifies a country and nothing more precise.

Do third parties see and/or have access to information obtained by the Application?

The Application shares information with the following parties, and no others:

  • Google, for advertising, as described above and under Google's Privacy Policy.
  • Apple and Google Play, for processing in-app purchases, under their own privacy policies.
  • Our hosting provider, which stores the leaderboard database and backup files on our behalf and has no independent right to use them.

Your Nickname/Callsign, country and gameplay statistics are shown publicly on the leaderboard inside the game.

We do not sell your information, and we do not share it with data brokers or with advertising networks other than as described above.

We may also disclose information where we believe in good faith that disclosure is necessary to protect our rights, to protect the safety of others, to investigate fraud or abuse of the leaderboard, or to respond to a lawful government request. If GBeeGames is involved in a merger, acquisition or sale of assets, we will post a prominent notice at stellarpatrol.app and in this policy before any information is transferred.

What are my opt-out rights?

  • Do not use the online features. Leave the Nickname/Callsign and Leaderboard Code fields blank in Settings. The Application will not contact our leaderboard or backup service at all, and the rest of the game remains fully playable.
  • Delete your backup. Tap DELETE BACKUP in Settings to remove your stored save from our server at any time.
  • Remove advertising. Buy the ad-free upgrade, and no further ad requests are made.
  • Limit ad tracking on iOS. Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking, and turn off tracking for Stellar Patrol. Ads become non-personalized.
  • Reset or delete your advertising ID on Android. Settings → Google → Ads.
  • Remove your leaderboard entry. The game has no button for this; write to us at the address below with your Nickname/Callsign and we will delete the row.
  • Uninstall. Removing the Application stops all collection by it.

Your rights over your information

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to ask us for a copy of the information we hold about you, to have it corrected, or to have it deleted. Because we hold no account and no email address, the only way we can identify your records is by your Nickname/Callsign, so please include it in any request. Write to us at the address in the "Contact us" section and we will respond within a reasonable time.

If you are in the EEA or the UK and wish to withdraw consent for personalized advertising after granting it, you can do so through the device advertising settings listed above, or by contacting us.

Data Retention Policy, Managing Your Information

Leaderboard entries are kept for as long as the leaderboard is operated, so that historical rankings remain meaningful; you can have your entry removed at any time by asking us. Save-game backups are kept until you delete them with the DELETE BACKUP button or ask us to remove them. Server access logs are kept for a short period for security and abuse investigation, and are then discarded or aggregated.

If you would like us to delete information you have provided through the Application, contact us at the address below. Please note that deleting your backup means it can no longer be restored to a new device.

Children

The Application is not directed to children under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them. Because the Application asks for no personal details, a child who plays it provides us with nothing beyond a self-chosen Nickname/Callsign, and then only if they choose to use the leaderboard. If a parent or guardian believes their child has provided information to us, they should contact us at the address below and we will delete it within a reasonable time.

Security

All communication between the Application and our servers uses HTTPS, and your saved game is stored in encrypted form on your device.

Please understand clearly what the Leaderboard Code is and is not. It is a short code you choose so that another player cannot post scores under your Nickname/Callsign, and so that your backup can be found again. It is not a secure account password: it is not tied to an email address, we cannot reset it for you, and anyone who knows both your Nickname/Callsign and your Code can restore your save-game backup. Do not use a password you use for anything else, and do not treat the Code as protecting anything of value. What sits behind it is game progress and nothing more.

We apply reasonable safeguards to the information we hold and limit access to it. No system, however, can prevent every possible security breach.

Changes

This Privacy Policy may be updated from time to time. We will notify you of any change by posting the new policy at stellarpatrol.app/privacy/ and updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Because we do not collect email addresses, we cannot notify you by email; please consult this page from time to time. Continued use of the Application after a change is deemed acceptance of it.

Your Consent

By using the Application, you consent to our handling of your information as set out in this Privacy Policy. GBeeGames is based in Ontario, Canada, and information submitted through the Application is stored on servers operated by our hosting provider, which may be located in Canada, the United States or elsewhere. Wherever it is stored, we handle it in accordance with this policy.

Contact us

If you have any questions about privacy while using the Application, or about our practices, please contact us by email at [email protected].
